The Department was established in 2004.
In 2004 Botany was started as a Degree course in T.B.K. College Botany is being offered upto second year B.Sc. level. and then continued as 6 units in the course. Botany is about study of plants and their relationships with other plants and other sciences; Biodiversity, Medicinal Botany, Phytochemistry, Pharmacognosy, Biostatistics, Ecology, Instrumentation, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. The Department maintains a Botanical garden. Botany departments of T.B.K College of Arts, Commerce & Science is running academic programs at UG level. There is one laboratory in the department. The botanical excursion are organized in view to study the wild plant diversity, forest ecosystem and to inculcate the research knowledge to the students by visiting Agriculture University. career in Botany can be highly rewarding for those, who are allured with the aesthetic beauty of nature
